My journey into counselling

My counselling journey has been shaped by years of experience in helping and listening roles. Taking the necessary qualifications has enabled me to work in a role I truly love. My career began at a boarding school, where I supported young people in navigating the pressures of school, exams, friendships and living away from home.

I have worked with young people facing homelessness and challenging family relationships, offering         mentorship and counselling. My experience also         includes roles as a school counsellor working with   children to understand and navigate 'big feelings',     friendship issues, school anxiety and refusal, anger and neurodiversity, related challenges.

Additionally I have many years experience as a sports coach, working with individuals aged four years and upwards. Currently, I am completing extensive training focused on working with children and young people, alongside supporting adults.

Over the last few years, I have worked with adults experiencing the effects of addiction, anxiety, depression, eating difficulties, and those navigating challenging life transitions, relationships, or mental health diagnoses, such as Bipolar as well as adult clients with Autism and ADHD. I have also volunteered for a number of years with charities who focus on supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual abuse, and relational trauma.

Through my work, I have come to understand the transformative power of being genuinely listened to and heard, an experience that is all too rare. Building compassionate, empathetic relationship can serve as a catalyst for self-awareness, self-compassion, healing, and personal growth.

My approach is often creative, with an emphasis on discovering the best way for clients to express       themselves and uncover what they need. As an           integrative counsellor, I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of my clients, creating a collaborative and meaningful connection between two individuals.
